Roscoflamex P50 is the latest flame retardant solution for the entertainment industry. A clear un-pigmented liquid, add Roscoflamex P50 to waterbased paint to render the paint film fire retardant. Conveniently pre-measured, one 12 fluid ounce jar of Roscoflamex P50 effectively treats one gallon of paint. Roscoflamex P50 is useful for treating scenic materials that cannot easily be treated by other methods and for supplying the additional protection of a fire retardant paint coating to scenic elements.
DILUTION AND MIXING:
Add one 12 oz. jar of Roscoflamex P50 directly to one gallon of paint. Always test a small mixture before adding P50 to a full gallon of paint. If any clumping occurs, add 4 oz. of water to the Roscoflamex P50 and then add this mixture to the paint.
When using Rosco Supersaturated paint add one 12 oz. jar to two quarts of undiluted Supersaturated and then dilute this mixture at least 1:1 with water. Twelve ounces of Roscoflamex P50 may not entirely fit into one full gallon of Roscopaint. It may be necessary to mix in a larger bucket. Mix thoroughly before using.
Paint may be diluted with water after being treated with Roscoflamex P50, but the dry paint film must be no less than 4 mil in thickness. The effectiveness of a fire retardant barrier is dependent on both the fire retardant additive and the thickness of the coating.
Apply treated paint by brush, roller or sprayer. Regardless of the method of application, it is vital that a complete paint film is formed and that the dry film thickness of the finished coating is not less than 4 mil. Paint films that are incomplete, or are too thin, will not provide a barrier against the spread of fire.
STORAGE:
Store Roscoflamex P50 only in non-metallic containers. When metal sprayers are used, they should be thoroughly cleaned immediately after use, including nozzles and accessories. Avoid use of metal buckets or paint containers when possible.
COVERAGE:
Coverage will vary with coverage of the paint being used. Approximately 300 sq. ft. per gallon of paint.
WARNING: Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not take internally. Do notstore in extreme heat or allow to come in contact with strong acids. Do nottransfer contents to another container. Do not store in metal containers . Washhands after use. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. |
